Beginning July 27th the water division will be replacing the water main on Allen St.  Approximately 720 feet of old, 6 inch, cast iron water main will be replaced with 8 inch plastic.  This project will be done completely by DPW personnel from both water and highway/grounds divisions.  The project is expected to take at least 2 weeks and water service on Allen St. will not be interrupted except for short periods during main line tie-ins and service change-overs.  We thank the residents of Allen St. for their patience as we improve both the quality of the water provided and the pressure necessary for fire protection. 

Update:  August 14-  The new water main on Allen St. has been installed.  The Water division employees will now be working on changing services from the old main to the new main after the pressure testing and chlorination test have been done.
