Any resident that owns a basketball hoop that is in the road or just off of it, either permanently mounted or portable, is advised to move the hoop at least 10 feet off of the edge of the road for the upcoming snow season. If the hoop is permanently mounted we are advising you to either remove the actual hoop portion or at least rotate the hoop away from the roadway. Neither the town nor the DPW will be responsible for any damage to personal property (hoops, fences, mailboxes, etc.) if it is determined to be within the road layout during snow removal operations.
